morning walk part 2~

the red barn screams white accent plants to me...

the smoke tree always draws me over...

peppermint lace crepe myrtle grabs your attention from afar...

the kitchen garden has some welcome accent color

the orchard never disappoints...

right now all my focus is on iris... i have 450 named varieties, i am dividing and spreading them all into new borders around the property. i thought flora needed a little color, with this new retaining wall addition it holds hundreds of new iris to brighten her spring.

at the best of times its a full time job to lift, divide, trim and replant 1000s of iris, but with the soaring temps its a nightmare to try and keep up...

  1. I'm all aflutter over your butterfly pics and the bee in flight! Dividing those iris and deadheading your roses is a Herculean task...you need staff! :) It will all be worth it next spring if you can stay hydrated and not have a heat stroke!
