the end of the day...

we just had the major storm finish up mid morning, when late this afternoon the heavy rains returned. suddenly it was coupled with huge booms, thunder and lighting in a very potent cell right over head... i was afraid to look out thinking could there be fire this soon after 9" of rain when my neighbor texted me there was a double rainbow over my house.  i raced to the window, still fearful of getting struck, i was handsomely rewarded and headed outside camera in hand...

thank you terry for letting me know and for sending me this pic of our house on the hill 🙂

after the storm...

it was one heck of a storm, we received 9" of rain and no property damage outside of wind with fallen branches and debris strewn everywhere with up to 60mph winds. i was eager to get out this morning and survey the damage, i did not expect to be delighted with a this newly opened dahlia...

i love to work hard in my garden, but its high time i thank my real work horses...

oh, and them too...

the calm before the MAJOR storm...

we are in for a major downpour, we ran errands first thing this morning, for the first time ever i had a smoldering mulch pile...

the sun briefly popped out and illuminated my favorite tree...

i hope everyone stays safe in this record producing river of water to come.
