i wanted color...

the new house was lacking in landscape, especially color, my goal was to have a bright spring! in the front of the house I tossed out California poppy seeds and divided the iris on site to see what might be here and added a couple of stray iris I had moved to the beach. the poppies took hold instantly, the roses are coming into their own now, so happy to be on goal!

garden chronicles, the rose gardens first baby steps~

The Rose Garden
4/26/2018

today we began the first step to my new rose garden! we rented a trencher to begin laying pipe all over our ten plus acres, as long as we had this huge rock chomping machine I said lets just start doing a grid over a hundred foot square area for the new rose garden, with no time to lay out the real design I am confident some of these trenches will work out for the new beds to come...

crystal hermitage spring garden

off in the mountains, hanging over a steep ravine is this spiritual retreat resplendent with 17,000 tulips and gorgeous flowering trees and shrubs. we drove through patches of fresh show, the tulips glistened in the sparkling light.
