I have 100s of roses to prune, this year I am starting with all the roses not in the rose garden first. This is the arch leading into the kitchen garden, surrounded by a hedge of red simplicity roses.
I must confess I detest pruning the simplicity roses, so many offshoots!
Heading into the backyard I next start pruning the white simplicity roses...
To go from four feet to two is shocking!
One more simplicity hedge to prune, which I dread striping away this still blooming white wonderland heading to the pool and spa.
While I am busy pruning roses, the deer are ravaging my citrus trees as they sharpen their antlers by rubbing on the bark and striping the tree of leaves.
You have your work cut out for you. I hope the gloves and apron help.
ReplyDeleteI don't envy you, such thorny and prickly work!
