garden chronicles, the kitchen garden is done!

The kitchen garden is officially done and thriving!

My husband installed a power strip for an easy quick click on and off for the fountain tucked low on the arbor.

He welded the last arbor, planted with clematis, and finished the pavers staircase.

I loved how the watering cans blend in perfect with the rusty metal for a little garden interest until the vines fill in.

All the irrigation is installed, a central rainbird covers the entire garden with soaker hoses for the rose border.

My husband welded 5' tall tomato towers, in spring they will support peas.

I use red accents in the garden for a bold splash of color

I planted a variety of mints in pots, the chocolate mint is an instant dessert in your mouth!

I thrive on color so added a dozen dinnerplate dahlias in the kitchen garden

My first early girl tomato

I love purple leaf basil!

wild over this greek basil, it grows in a ball like boxwood

anticipation...

The kitchen garden has turned into a little garden hub, the orchard lies behind  it and I always bring my freshly picked baskets in for a rinse, my husband has his morning coffee at the bistro table and Katie even manages to spend good portions of her day sunning on the pavers.

although not the kitchen garden, I love this visual extension, thanks to my neighbors canna I love how a boring garage wall now vibrates with color

  2. Amazing! It is absolutely beautiful. Your husband did a fabulous job on the trellis.

  3. I can not get over HOW MUCH you have accomplished in such a short time! The welding and hardscape, swoon! Great minds buy alike, I have a twin to your copper watering can rain chain, too short unless I find another to join it. In the meantime it's waiting in the wings. Love it as an accent to your wonderful rusty arbor! ♥
