its no secret i love to garden, join me today while i thumb thru the pages in my own little working greenhouse. i am from an english family, my love of gardens runs deep, naturally i can appreciate all beatrix shares from her many gardens and sketches.
my greenhouse is old and tattered, truly on its last legs, but i can't begin to tell you the 100's of 1000s to 10,000s of plants this little greenhouse has kicked out for me over the decades. i used to spend every waking moment in here to fill my acerage with more and more beauty, but these days its a much quieter little room to enjoy, most of the shelves sit barren, but i still get a thrill when i enter everytime and remember the countless hours of joy i spent playing in the sweet dirt...
i confess, its time to come clean...
yes, a true gardener knows all the dirt, and i just have to be honest with you...
i did not care for the book... visually its very pretty, but i thought it was extremely dry reading... and if you can't tell, i love all things garden... personally, i would rate this book two and half stars, perhaps this is better borrowed from the library...
i did enjoy seeing beatrix with her border collie, we certainly think alike there. i was thrilled every time katie joined me in the greenhouse, she would bound around with cassie, jump in the pool for a swim yet still manage to race back and lay down with me for fifteen minutes before she repeated her playful cycle...
i hope you enjoyed your time in the greenhouse today~
be sure and stop by the novel bakers today and see what treats they too might be sharing~
