surprise guest~

today is the first rainfall of the season, its been since april, finally the fire season is over! while doing my dishes i glanced up so see my surprise guest out In the kitchen garden. i started shooting through the wet window for fear it would fly off, but i was able to get within 10' of him, i was so busy wiping my lens over and over i missed when he flew 5' over my head...

  4. Hurray for the end of fire season and rain! I hope you popped a bottle of bubbly in celebration! What a beauty and fantastic shots! We have one that sits in our River Birch above the bird feeder. I find feathers everywhere when I go out to refill. :( I realize hawks have to eat too but I wish they would pick off the four-legged varmints that we have surplus of.

    1. I have loads of finch feeding in my kitchen garden, of course that's where he sat! I threw out some cooked chicken but it wasn't interested, fortunately he flew off before anything horrid happened.
