my morning walk~

I am so grateful to my neighbor for sharing all these gorgeous red canna!

the white lavender is in full bloom

if anyone can tell me what this bird is would love to know, such brilliant coloration, but this one has surely got a brain defect by now... I am shooting this from inside the house, all day long it perches on this chair and flies smack into the window, OVER AND OVER! you can see the glass is marred from the relentless pummeling. it must look like a mirror from the outside, just don't know how long it can keep this up :-(

across the fence, a party of 60~

  1. I don't know what type of bird this is. Birds are known to fly into their reflection. You will help prevent this by putting decals on your windows. You can google what type of decals. This will help save birds lives. Beautiful bird and what a clear shot through your window!

  2. Bullocks Oriole - he sees a rival (another male) in the window reflection and not himself. He must have a female nesting nearby and doesn't want another male in his territory. Cardinals & robins also exhibit this jealous behavior and it won't end until nesting season is over. Your garden is beautiful and its amazing how much you have created here since you moved.
