garden chronicles, the lions are home~

at our old house i had an ivy house flanked by 2 lions, when the house burned down my husband was able to salvage the battered and broken lions, i wanted to honor them here and recreate a new ivy house for them. the lions are supposedly the king of the jungle, but let me tell you rosie is ruling the roost here and projects have plummeted when she is around!

she is always lurking...

just waiting to pounce...

and steal!

so much for a precise garden, she moved numerous flags and deposited them 50' away from their origins...

she is hard to resist...

even when playing queen of the mountain!

despite her appearance the lions made it to their destination

as you can see they are very damaged, split in half and gouged out in chunks, the fire was so hot the concrete bubbled off, same with our garage floor...

they used to be a creamy white with sparkles, now they show their fire scares, but still shimmer in the sun.

i managed to smooth the damaged areas, i couldn't commit to recovering them, i love to see the glint in the sunlight, time will tell how much harder i try to repair them...

  2. Oh my goodness, how do you stand the cuteness?! I wouldn't get anything done! Love how the lions have come home too. ♥
