garden chronicles, in the rose garden, an update~

we hit a milestone, we finished all the pavers in the rose garden! the garden has been a slow labor of love, the first rose was plant on 12/24/19, today the garden has its defined shape with 4 circular paths radiating from the center, with cross access paths and a side rose tunnel. the major coo is now its completely weed free with 100s of yards of mulch and hardscaping! the roses were all pruned in December, several hundred, they are all flourishing and buds are forming quickly, two of the fences are covered in banksaie, I feel like any day they will be exploding with color!

my husband has made four of our six tuteurs for the climbing roses, rising out above the floral carpet ground cover roses behind the boxwood hedge.
there is still plenty of work left in the garden; 2 tuteurs, the columns need to be set in concrete and topped with welded metal arbors, an 8' wooden gate and then lastly a conservatory in the upper left hand corner, no date set on the latter! for now I will be thrilled to walk about my garden out of the weeds and breath in the scents to come!
