morning walk~

I cannot lie, with all the fires and people fleeing for their lives I am a jangled mess of nerves, to calm myself I walked my garden this morning and picked two bountiful bouquets of roses. I feel better outside, alert to our environment, watchful and praying for better days for all in the west.

    1. It is coreopsis desert coral, a gorgeous terra cotta color. Thank you for your kind comment, the garden color brings me so much joy, especially when I am anxious these days...

  4. I saw the photos from the bay area with the red/orange sky. Truly never seen anything like it. Continued prayers! We have family up in Redding and friends througout the state. My husband's friend since high school had to evacuate from the Oroville area last night. Keeping you all in our thoughts and praying for cooler weather and rain for the state.

    1. All of this smoke the last few days is from the bear fire which is in Oroville, I pray they are safe, it has been horrific there. I know they are finding bodies from people who couldn't make it out, I heard a 911 call telling someone we can't help you shelter in place, they didn't survive, I burst into tears, everyone of us could be overrun with these unimaginable fire storms.

    1. Thank you Sarah for visiting, even though our house burned to the ground in Vacaville I feel incredible blessed that we are still alive and whole in our other home. I won't lie, I have been afraid here too, one spark and catastrophe can happen anywhere 😥 god bless all the people in harms way, its been relentless in the west.

  6. Oh you've been on my mind! So good to see your garden beauty. I know it has to be great therapy for you. Hoping and praying for cooler temps and rain to help abate the fires. I can't even wrap my brain around that kind of disaster and stress. I just read your comment above about the 911 call. I would have a melt down. I hope you can stay tucked away safe out of harms way and have plenty of provisions. ♥

    1. Thank you Mary, I can't wait until wet weather and clear skies return, the smoke is so thick and low its like fog, I truly can barely see 100' now and the smell is so strong I cough just opening the door. Those poor fireman dealing with this nonstop, they are the real American heroes, you can never pay then enough for all they do to save others life, why does Hollywood stars make millions, this is who we should idolize!
