apple dumplings~

after a very hot week, this morning we had a cool mountain breeze signaling the hint of fall in the air, and that means apples are ripe and reading for picking!

I could easily fill several wheelbarrows full of fresh sweet, tart, beautiful apples!

mary had a beautiful post about peach dumplings and mentioned it was perfect for apples too,

then I noticed pioneer womans apple recipe on pinterest...

what was I waiting for!

super simple, fast and easy...

and delish!

apple dumplings

preheat oven to 350
place in a greased 8x8 pan

melt
2/3 cup brown sugar
one cube of butter
cinnamon
and stir until thickens

  1. Delish! Oh so lucky to have apples by the wheelbarrow load to pick! Of course you had the perfect plate to accompany them. ;) I hope you have a great Labor Day weekend. Our humidity is dropping briefly with temps in the 80s instead of 90s...fall can't get here quickly enough for me!

  2. Apples are a daily consumption here, but haven't tried dumplings. Thanks for the recipe. Happy autumn!
